Horror as woman ‘gang-raped by men with handmade weapons’ who ‘dragged her from home’ | World | News

A woman was allegedly gang-raped after being dragged from her home by a group of men armed with homemade weapons. Police have confirmed that three people have been arrested following the attack, which was reported on Saturday 13 June.

It was claimed that the suspects came to the woman’s house on Saturday night and threatened her with guns. They then forcibly took her to a secluded place where she was raped. The woman told her family what happened, even though the gang threatened to kill her if she reported the attack. Police immediately launched an investigation and arrested three teenagers following a series of night raids in the area. However, they are still searching for two men in connection with the reported rape.

It has been confirmed that Hasib Al Hasan (19), Abdur Rahman Imon (20) and Mehedi Hasan Tutul (21) were arrested in connection with the alleged rape. They are accused of threatening the victim with homemade weapons before taking her to a secluded area and raping her.

Local police officer Maruf Hossain said on Monday (June 15): “The three arrested accused appeared in the Jashore court this afternoon, while efforts are on to capture the two escaped suspects.”

The gang reportedly threatened to kill the woman if she reported the attack to the authorities. However, he told his family about the situation without informing the police.

An investigation was launched into the incident after police teams raided the houses in the area. Police said efforts to find the remaining suspects are continuing.

With a population of over 2.7 million, Jashore is a large city in southwestern Bangladesh. It is known for its rich history, including the first region of the country to be liberated in the 1971 War of Independence.
