Fatal shark attack on Sydney’s northern beaches

A man died after being attacked by a large shark on the northern beaches of Sydney.

Police, emergency teams on Saturday after 10 am sent to the Long Reef Beach and a man was subjected to critical injuries replied to reports, he said.

He was taken from surfing and brought to the shore, but he died at the scene.

Police closed the beach and will contact experts to identify the types of sharks related to the relevant shark.

Two parts of a surfboard were recovered and taken for examination.
