Gayle King speaks out amid reports she’s exiting ‘CBS Mornings’

“CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King is speaking out amid reports of an impending exit from Tiffany Network’s flagship morning show as part of Paramount’s big shakeup.

“The one thing I can say from what I’ve been told in this building is … the one thing everyone in this building has told me is that they want me here, they love what I do, I love what I do.” he told TMZ Leaving the studio on Friday.

“I love my job and the people I work with, so I don’t know what to tell you,” King continued. “What I heard in the building is not the same as what I read in the press. And I will not discuss this in the media. I will not do this!”

King said he has “no idea” whether “CBS Mornings” will move in a new direction when his contract expires in May 2026.

“All I know is I’m here, I’m here, and I’m happy to be here,” King added before getting into the vehicle.

CBS News did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. A Paramount spokesman declined to comment.

King joined CBS News in 2012 and was part of the network’s morning show reboot, then called “CBS This Morning.” King retained his seat as other co-hosts rotated in and out of the program over the years. But according to reports, he struggled to improve CBS’ ratings despite a roster of A-list friends like Oprah Winfrey and a salary that ranges from $10 million to $15 million annually.

CBS News has had a tumultuous year, starting with a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump over allegations of election interference, which was ultimately settled by its parent company, Paramount. It also became the new owner after Paramount’s $8 billion merger with Skydance Media.
