Encourage innovation and entrepreneurial thinking: AICTE Vice-Chairman

“Schools should encourage innovation, problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking among children from an early age,” said Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Director, Innovation, Ministry of Education.
Referring to the ‘Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE)’ Boot Camp organized for principals and teachers of PM SHRI Schools at Presidency University, he said: “Teachers should move away from rote learning and help students learn through curiosity, experiments and real-life examples.”
IDE Boot Camp aims to provide PM SHRI school principals and teachers with practical training in design thinking, innovative teaching methods, fundamentals of entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills. This will help them create a culture of innovation in their school.
The program supports the mission of PM SHRI Schools and highlights the important role of teachers in creating a future-ready education system and was part of a national initiative held at eight centers in six States across the country.
