As Americans celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, we have the opportunity to think about more than just our history. We have an opportunity to remember the values that make America possible.
In my view, these values are inseparable from the Judeo-Christian principles that shaped our founders and influenced the development of our nation. The concepts of freedom, human dignity, justice and moral responsibility did not arise in a vacuum. They were deeply influenced by the biblical worldview that guided generations of Americans.

Our American system of government is rooted in the truths God spoke to the Jewish people more than 2,500 years ago. The three branches of our government are inspired by the prophet Isaiah, who wrote, “The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king” (Isaiah 33:22). The laws that govern our nation are revealed by the Old Testament and the Ten Commandments. When we look at the back of a dollar bill and see the slogan “In God We Trust”, which God do we trust? We trust in the God who appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Our founding principles are yet another reason why we support Israel.

As vice president of the Young Leadership affinity group at the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) chapter in Washington, D.C., I have witnessed firsthand the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who defend Israel. I traveled to Israel after the October 7 terrorist attacks and met soldiers, families, and communities whose lives were forever changed. What stood out most was not only their resilience, but also their determination to defend freedom while maintaining a strong moral framework under incredibly difficult circumstances.
Support for Israel should not be viewed only from a political perspective. This belief must be grounded in history and recognition of the unique role the Jewish people have played in shaping the values we as Americans hold dear today. Their values are the values that guided the founders of our nation.

A survey conducted last September Concepts of Infinity and Gray Matter Research It shows that although American evangelicals are still strong supporters of Israel and the Jewish people, younger generations are unfortunately increasingly disconnected from these foundations. The report, titled “Crossroads of Faith: Evangelicals and the Jewish People,” found that only 29% of Evangelicals under the age of 35 believe the Jewish people are God’s chosen people. This statistic should concern everyone who values our nation’s history and sacred roots.
Let us recommit to the principles that sustain our Republic. Principles that began with the ancestors of our Jewish neighbors and friends. We flourished as a nation when we supported Israel. Will we continue to stand with Israel as a strong ally, supporting the people God has promised to be with until the end of time?
Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM), recently visited Israel as the official guest of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir. The CENTCOM Commander and the Chief of General Staff first had a long one-on-one meeting. This was followed by a meeting of additional commanders. The IDF says the meeting serves as another expression of the relationship between the commanders and represents an additional step in developing the close strategic relationship between the IDF and the US military and strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries. The joint operations of the United States and Israel last year and this year to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions represent the cooperation and partnership that should typify the relationship between our two great nations. Such friendship is the natural outcome of our historical common bond, built on the common foundations of hope, truth and freedom.
The long-standing friendship of the United States and Israel is something we must continue to promote, support, and protect with strength and attention.

As we celebrate 250 years of American freedom, let us stand with our Jewish neighbors and our ally Israel, honor our moral foundations from our God who made them His chosen people, and remember that freedom can only survive when each generation chooses to stand up and preserve it.
