Amazon signs 20-year lease for 5.6 lakh sq. ft. fulfillment centre in Hooghly
Bengaluru: Amazon Inc.’s market arm Amazon Services Services, while scaling the network of fulfillment throughout India, hired a storage area of 5.6 lakh square meters in the Hooghly region of Western Bengal.
The area that will serve as a new fulfillment center (FC) has been rented before Nahar Industrial Enterprises Ltd. According to the documents accessed by the Real Estate Analysis Platform Propstack, the transfer will begin on June 1 between January and June 2026. The agreement takes 20 years.
Amazon will pay a monthly rent La1.26 Crore, climbing every three years, more payment more La400 crore during the rental period.
An amazon spokesman did not answer queries.
“The agreement in Hooghly is one of India’s several high-valuable storage agreements showing confidence in the growing organized storage industry directed by e-commerce,” Propstack said.
HOOGHLY agreement is coming in the heels of Amazon India LaIn June, the 2,000 Crore investment announcement aimed to strengthen its operational infrastructure, technology capabilities and the speed of fulfilling. Expansion reflects increasing competition not only with Flipkart, but also with fast trade platforms that reshape consumer expectations.
In recent months, Amazon, Hooghly, Tiruvallur, Krishnagiri, Visakhapatnam and Huballi’de rented and emphasized the pushing of non -subway cities.

Last week, the company announced the expansion of six people to the market that 12 new fulfillment centers have been released and to accelerate the delivery rates.
