The US president is going after fellow Republicans in Kentucky and Indiana. Donald Trump is often involved in important state primaries where US presidents do not interfere, and he urges voters to stay away and not vote for candidates he sees as Trump’s political enemies. From Indiana to Kentucky to Louisiana and beyond, Anthony and Justin examine how Trump’s MAGA Republican party is targeting fellow Republicans and whether they’re succeeding. Trump’s main target is Thomas Massie, a seven-term Republican congressman from Kentucky who has opposed Trump on issues such as the Epstein files, congressional spending and the war in Iran. Massie now faces a challenge from a multi-million dollar Trump-backed candidate… We look at Massie’s chances and what this race tells us more broadly about what will happen to Republicans who oppose Trump. We also look at Louisiana and Indiana, where Trump recently eliminated state senators he viewed as disloyal.
