Amit Rai Adds Twist to Paresh Rawal’s ‘OMG2’ Revelation

Paresh Rawal’s recent podcast in which he talked about OMG2 being “taken away” from him sparked a controversy and the film’s director Amit Rai also accused Rawal of questionable behaviour.

Amit Rai said, “What is he talking about? I had and still have a lot of respect for him. But this is not the right behavior for an artist like Pareshji.”

Rai claimed that Rawal did not want Akshay Kumar to be a part of OMG2. “Akshay is a key stakeholder in all his projects. Paresh knew that if he had done OMG2 with Akshay, he would not have benefited much financially. 90 percent would have been Akshayji’s,” he explained. “So Pareshji took me to Ajay Devgn to get him to play ‘God’ instead of Akshay Kumar.”

Amit Rai said that Ajay Devgn “refused to act together” and instead “told us to get Akshay’s permission and only after that he would be a part of OMG2”. “Of course, it was impossible to give permission. He was not even aware of the game being played behind Akshay’s back.”

Finally, OMG2 was made with Pankaj Tripathi replacing Paresh Rawal.

While Amit Rai insisted that what he said was true, he said, “I don’t know why you said it.” [Paresh Rawal] doing [putting forward a different version.] But my movie Oh My Dogg will be released on July 31st. I’d rather focus on that than talk about a debate that didn’t exist three years ago.
