In a late night development on Friday, May 8, 2026, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader TTV Dhinakaran accused the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of submitting a photocopy of a “fake letter” to the Governor, claiming that his party had the support of MLA-elect from Mannargudi constituency S. Kamaraj.

“The TVK, claiming to be ‘pure power’, indulged in forgery in the hope that he would not pull the anti-defection law in the hope that they could then engage in horse trading and buy off our lone MLA. They presented the photocopy of the ‘WhatsApp letter’ to the Governor. They left saying the original would be brought when he asked for it,” Mr. Dhinakaran told reporters outside the Lok Bhavan, accompanied by Mr. Kamaraj.
He said that a criminal complaint would be filed with the police regarding the matter. He said Mr Kamaraj was “shocked” to see a forged letter presented in his name.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Dhinakaran submitted another letter to the Governor supporting AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and requesting that he be invited to form the government. The letter had his signature as well as Mr. Kamaraj’s (already obtained).
However, according to the news agency, later on Friday night, May 8, 2026, TVK reportedly denied these accusations. MOMENT. The party reportedly shared a video of AMMK’s Mr. Kamaraj allegedly signing the letter of support for TVK. He accused Mr Dhinakaran of spreading “false news and misinformation”.
While Congress and Left parties in Tamil Nadu have extended their support to TVK president Mr. Vijay, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) is yet to officially announce its support amid uncertainty over the formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu.
