Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets under the Amul brand, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, announced a revision in fresh milk prices across major variants and packs in India.

According to the federation, the price of milk across India has been increased by ₹2 per liter from May 14 due to rising input costs. This means an increase of approximately 2.5 percent to 3.5 percent, and it is stated that this figure remains below the average food inflation rate. GCMMF noted that this is the first increase in Amul milk prices since May 2025.

The cooperative attributed the increase to increased operating and production costs, including increased expenses for cattle feed, milk packaging film and fuel.

It was also stated that member unions increased the purchase price paid to farmers by ₹30 per kilo of oil, an increase of 3.7% compared to May 2025.

About 80 paise of every rupee paid by consumers for milk and dairy products is transferred to milk producers, GCMMF said. The federation said the latest revision aims to ensure affordable prices for dairy farmers and encourage higher milk production.

Revised maximum retail prices (MRPs) for major Amul milk varieties in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, Saurashtra and Kutch regions, will be published separately.
