And Now, ‘Pushpa: The Epic’?

The mixed response to Baahubali: The Epic did not dampen the morale of the Pushpa team. Yes, there will soon be a fusion ‘epic’ remake of Allu Arjun’s blockbuster twin films, 2021’s highest-grossing Hindi film Pushpa: The Rise (released on December 17, 2021) and its sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule (released on December 5, 2024). It will be an even greater success.

The two installments together have reportedly grossed over Rs 12,000 crore. Now comes the “epic” reunion; both Pushpa films will be re-released as a single, unified cinema experience, similar to the recent remaster of Baahubali. Even though Baahubali: The Epic did not live up to high expectations at the box office, the Pushpa team remains unimpressed. “Like Baahubali, the assembled version of Pushpa will feature additional never-before-seen footage,” said a source.
