Andhra Natya Sangamam Showcases Classical Dance in Vijayawada
: Classical dance festival Andhra Natya Sangamam was held in Vijayawada on Sunday evening under the auspices of Swaranartana music and dance institution.
The event was organized with the blessings of late Padma Dr Nataraja Ramakrishna and was officiated by Sangeet Natak Akademi award winner Guru Kalakrishna. A special presentation titled Nava Janardhana Parijata was made by the famous artist Padmamohan Denduluri.
The winners of the competitions held in December exhibited their talents in the program. Former principal forest conservator IFS (retired) Denduluri Nalini Mohan presided over this function.
While awards were distributed to the winners in both junior and senior categories, Sharada Ramakrishna’s students secured top positions in both divisions. Swaranartana’s founders encouraged greater public participation in the promotion and preservation of classical dance forms.
