Andrew is just the start. Royal sources tell me of the ‘bigger unravelling still to come’. Harry and his tiresome wife Meghan better watch out: MAUREEN CALLAHAN

Now it’s a matter of curiosity when it will happen. If not.
The bombshell announcement from Buckingham Palace that Andrew has been stripped of his princely status with immediate effect and will henceforth be known as ‘Mr.’ The fact that Mountbatten had to surrender his lease at Windsor to the Royal Lodge leaves no doubt in my mind: Harry and Meghan are next.
The sun is beginning to set permanently over Montecito.
And as we noted earlier this week, Prince William is emerging as the apparent force behind these most welcome reforms, despite the official statement from the King.
This is now William’s monarchy.
From this perspective, Andrew feels like a pawn that William has taken away to pave the way for his true target, Harry.
If the late Queen’s favorite son is coldly dismissed and stripped of his birthright – if William can persuade the conflict-averse Charles to give up his own brother – Harry’s days as prince and Duke of Sussex are surely numbered.
As for Meghan? Like Fergie, she would just be collateral damage. An idea that came to my mind later. Flotsam is on the lookout for shore — perhaps QVC’s Pennsylvania headquarters and where she might find shelter As always overstock in deep discount.

Meghan’s corrective to Mindy Kaling on the otherwise utterly boring Netflix show was such that she was no longer Meghan ‘Markle’.
‘I’m Sussex now!’ he declared.
One really wonders how long it will last.
Clearly there is a strong, jaded, take-no-prisoners William on the rise – and oh, the glory of it all!
Knowing that Meghan and Harry can now be consigned to the dustbin of Royal history, to persevere with the remnants of the day in the cheap seats, is perhaps the most seductive and satisfying finale of the modern era.
Sayonara, Sussex!
What would happen to the huge, monogrammed Longchamp bag with ‘DS’ written on it that Meghan recently flaunted on social media?
Will it be thrown into the physical and spiritual garbage heap, dumped on top of all of Meghan’s other waste? Including but not limited to: his ailing father, Thomas; his sister and brother; Harry’s grandparents, father and stepmother, brother, aunt, nieces and nephews?
Its entire raison d’être?
And oh, how could we forget: Jessica Mulroney and all manner of Meghan’s ‘friends’ who apparently serve their purposes; Various and sundry staff fleeing Sussex’s job, the latest defector being Emily Robinson, who is Meghan’s 10th publicist in five years and has previously worked at Netflix Crown?
Irony. Or is it symmetry?
Not to mention the people and organizations slowly moving away from Harry and Meghan: Netflix, Spotify, Lemonada, Oprah… Where will Harry and Meghan turn?
Certainly not for the people of Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles, who booed the couple when they were shown on the jumbotron at a Dodgers game this week.
Critics were also not upset that Meghan and Harry sat in the front row, with baseball legend Sandy Koufax relegated to the seat behind them.
Imagine. Could even one person question Kate’s place at Wimbledon?
How all the rapturous applause that greets the Princess of Wales every year must be heartbreaking for Meghan, especially as she emerges from cancer treatment and takes her rightful place at court.
Although quiet, Kate is undoubtedly among the main reasons William took off first with his uncle and then with his brother.
It was Harry who reprinted Kate’s private messages with Meghan. not being able to resist. It was Omid Scobie, Harry and Meghan’s cheerleader and their lauded biographer, who called Kate and Charles so-called ‘royal racists’.
These betrayals, and Charles and Kate’s subsequent cancer diagnoses, appear to have had an eye-opening effect on William. Grief is often accompanied by anger, and anger needs an outlet.
William seems to have found a pretty efficient one.
And so Andrew was the first to be cut out.
Knowing that Meghan and Harry can now be consigned to the dustbin of Royal history, dwelling on the remnants of the day in the cheap seats, is perhaps the most seductive and satisfying finale of the modern era.
The language in Thursday’s shock statement is unusually muscular. Gone are the days when ‘recollections may change’.
Despite the king’s official authorship, it certainly has William’s fingerprints all over it.
‘His Royal Highness has today begun a formal process to remove Prince Andrew’s Order, Titles and Honors,’ the announcement begins.
After Andrew reveals that he has been evacuated from the Royal Lodge and must find ‘private accommodation’ to spend his days in disgrace, the statement turns into a full-blown condemnation.
‘These censorships are deemed necessary; [Andrew] He continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Royal Highnesses wish to make it clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies are with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse and remain with them.’
Of course, Harry and Meghan’s constant sniping in no way compares to Andrew and his relationship with dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
But the royal family has a forensic eye for language and detail. Notes: any kind of abuse.
Could this extend to calling the royal family racist in front of Oprah and a worldwide audience as Prince Philip lay dying? To say nothing of mocking the Queen, as Meghan did on Netflix, and then claiming she rejected the royal family’s mental help when she was suicidal; or Harry betraying King Charles and William multiple times in ‘The Reserve’ and even writing about a private argument between the three of them after Philip’s funeral.
If William is just starting out, he knows for sure that the world is rooting for him, that any attack from his brother and aunt, those epic playwrights, will be laughed at and rejected.
A former royal aide at Kensington Palace, William and Kate’s London residence, told the Daily Mail: ‘They are moving away from the edges now. [of the family]’ – that would be Andrew – ‘a greater unraveling is coming.’
This larger unraveling, in my view, is Harry and Meghan’s royal titles, status and dignity.
‘William is now much more comfortable in his role of trying to create something sustainable. “And no, Charles is not up to the job,” the former aide continued. ‘Where will people look next when Andrew stops being a convenient cover?’
We hope to head west to Montecito.
