While the Duke of Edinburgh put pressure on his rebellious brother, the embarrassed and weak Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was “made an offer he could not refuse” by his younger brother Edward.
Prince Edward is reportedly the first royal to visit Andrew as the 66-year-old former Duke of York waits in ‘social purgatory’ at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate. Edward, 62, wanted to “talk quietly” about Andrew eventually moving into his permanent home in exile, the nearby Marsh Farm residence at Sandringham, also in Norfolk.
It has been claimed that the disgraced former prince is “dragging his feet” as renovations have been ongoing at Marsh Farm for months.
Edward was supposed to stay at Wood Farm but since Andrew was still holed up there (basically inheriting two properties) Edward had to stay at the main house this week.
A friend said: “Prince Edward was the first and only member of the Royal Family to visit. “Since Andrew left the Royal Lodge he has been ignored by everyone, including his daughters and his estranged ex-wife.

“Edward had already made his feelings clear when he expressed his concerns about the victims. Edward was supposed to stay at Wood Farm as he regularly booked for Easter, but his brother was there.
“Andrew is dragging his heels. He could have moved by now but he was reluctant. Edward spoke quietly to his brother.”
Palace aides have always stated that Andrew should be at his new permanent home, Marsh Farm, by the Easter weekend.
Andrew has been ostracized by his entire family since he was evicted from his 30-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor in February after a series of shocking emails about his friendship with pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein emerged in the Epstein Files.
King Charles refused to see Andrew when he spent a week a mile away from Wood Farm in Sandringham last month.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Catherine, who are on holiday at the nearby royal estate at Anmer Hall, have also given Andrew wide berth in recent days.

Even Andrew’s two devoted daughters, Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 36, have been careful not to visit their disgraced father since moving to Sandringham, while his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, also 66, has not been seen for months.
Recently, Andrew was seen for the first time since his high-profile arrest on suspicion of misconduct in a public office while working as a UK trade envoy.
While meeting with Sandringham estate manager Edward Parsons last week, he was photographed being hauled away in flat-packed moving boxes, suggesting a Marsh Farm move could be on the way.
Now Edward went to see Andrew, and told him to make haste; The move to Marsh Farm is expected to be completed soon.
Let’s not forget that Edward is the most senior royal to speak publicly and personally about the allegations surrounding his brother.
“I think it’s always very important to remember the victims and who the victims of all this are,” Edward told a conference in Dubai.
Edward and his wife Sophie, Queen Elizabeth II. They’ve really stepped up on behalf of the entire Royal Family since Elizabeth’s death – I’m sure she told Andrew he needed to do so if he wanted to keep ‘Windsor’ in his surname.
