Angela Rayner admitted that she had priced the stamp task low while buying an £ 800,000 apartment on Hove for supporting the Prime Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary, Greater Manchester’daki family house, the regulations should pay a higher rate, he said.
He rejected that he was trying to overcome the extra tax by accusing the first legal advice for the situation to be “properly taken into account”.
Sir Keir Starmer stood by the Prime Minister’s questions and said he was proud to sit with him.
However, the conservative leader Kemi Badenoch called on him to dismiss and described his position as “unsettled”.
Rayner said he was now in contact with HMRC to solve the tax he needs to pay, and he directed himself to investigate according to the standard advisor of PM.
After not paying the higher rate of additional home purchases, it is under pressure in recent weeks after saving £ 40,000 in the Eastern Sussex apartment.
Accepting the extra tax obligation is damaging the Deputy Prime Minister who is foreseen to attack the behavior of the Tory ministers before the Labor Party started his duty last year.
It also offers a political headache for Sir Keir, Deputy leader of Rayner – Labor – provides a key connection to the left of the party and supported trade unions.
Trusting ‘Recommendation’
In a statement, Rayner confirmed that he paid the standard stamp tax rate when buying the apartment in May after receiving legal advice.
Ashton-Under Lyne, whom he shared with his ex-husband and his family, added that he had partially financed the purchase by selling his shares at his family in Greater Manchester.
Some of his interest in the house, after his divorce, previously sold to the care of his son who had life -long barriers to a confidence initiated by a court established to finance the care, he said.
“The security of knowing that the house was his safety,” he was designed to let him live in the house he felt safe, “he added,” and “was a standard practice in conditions like ours”.
However, fresh legal advice revealed that the “provisions of complex provisions” means that the Hove Flat should pay the higher stamp tax rate for the acquisition of the Hove Flat.
“Depending on my confidence from lawyers who do not take these provisions properly, I accept that I do not pay the appropriate stamp tax during the purchase.”
He continued: “I regret the mistake made.
Downing Street has now not yet set the reference conditions for an investigation by the Prime Minister’s Interest Advisor Sir Laurie Magnus.
Prime Minister’s questions Sir Keir, MPS’e Rayner’ın “in detail the personal conditions,” he said.
“I know how difficult this decision is to him from talking to the Deputy Prime Minister.
“Now he has directed himself to the independent counselor. This is the right thing to do,” he added.
But speaking to journalists, Kemi Badenoch said, “If the Prime Minister had a backbone, he should have already dismissed him.
“If you are deputy prime minister, if you help determine a tax policy, if you are a housing secretary who decides where people will live [and] How much this will cost, then you need to take your own work regularly, “he said.
“Of course, we understand that people have different conditions and difficult personal conditions. However, this does not mean that you should not comply with the law.”
Liberal Democratic leader Sir Ed Davey, the investigation of the ministry rules concluded that the position of Rayner’s position “defendable”, he said.
But he added: “As a parent of a disabled child, I know my wife and the most concern, our son’s care after leaving.
“That’s why I can fully understand and trust that the Deputy Prime Minister thinks the same thing here.”
‘Briefing against him’
The existence of trust was not known before, and Rayner said that he was prevented from sharing more details due to a court order that was removed on Tuesday after applying successfully to waive.
Instead of disclosing the details of his son, he asked if he was thinking of resigning and told Sky News: “I talked to my family about it.”
“I talked to my old husband, an incredibly supportive person, because he knows that the only thing I do is to try to support and help them.
“The number one priority for me and my former husband is always to support our children and do the best thing for our children.”
Rayner did not say at what point at which point he received additional legal advice, which revealed additional tax obligation.
Until Friday, the Deputy Prime Minister insisted on paying the “relevant task” on Hove property.
Sir Keir public On Monday, the deputy added that “briefing against people and talking about it over and over again”.
No 10 did not say when the Prime Minister was informed about whether Rayner has seen low payment or legal advice.
Tories also questioned whether Rayner was the main home of the grace and favur apartment in Admiralty House, the center of London, and asked the Council to cover the tax bill.
The cabinet office said that the government had previously included the Council tax on official houses, which was used by ministers as a second home, “a long -standing principle.”
Rayner said in a statement that the house in Ashton-Under-Lyne remained as a “family house” and that it is registered for most official and financial purposes, including credit cards, and maintains the “majority of my belongings”.
