Bateau Bay: Emergency crews treat spider bite anaphylaxis and vending machine injury in NSW

CareFlight and NSW Ambulance responded to two major emergencies on Saturday, including a suspected spider bite near Wisemans Ferry and a vending machine accident at Bateau Bay.
Shortly after noon, a man in his 60s was flown to Westmead Hospital after suffering an allergic reaction believed to have been caused by a spider bite while camping near Wisemans Ferry.
NSW Ambulance called the Mounties CareFlight Helicopter and paramedics at the scene worked with a specialist doctor before taking the man to hospital in a serious but stable condition on the banks of the Hawkesbury River.
A young boy was injured when a claw dexterity tester vending machine fell on him during an event in Bateau Bay just before 3 p.m.
The CareFlight team, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, assessed and treated the child at the scene.
The child was taken to Gosford Hospital by road ambulance and was found to be in a stable condition.
