Animal Welfare Day Observed

Hyderabad: Animal Welfare Day was celebrated by the district animal husbandry department at Melkote Park in Narayanaguda on Wednesday as part of Praja Palana — Pragathi Pranalika. Speaking on the occasion, Hyderabad district collector D. Hari Chandana said that the government has given priority to the welfare and protection of silent creatures. He added that 15,000 water containers have been placed across the city for the animals.

The district collector said four multi-specialty hospitals are currently operating in the district to provide medical treatment to animals. He announced that a campaign titled ‘Safe with Dogs’ has been launched to raise awareness about animals in society.

He inspected the dog show and veterinary hospital and instructed medical authorities to provide better medical facilities for animals.
