Another 10,000 drivers face Citroen recall over faulty airbags

Citroen has now expanded the critical ‘stop drive’ airbag campaign, including C4, DS4 and DS5 models. Emergency recall tells its owners not to drive their vehicles because of a potentially dangerous airbag error.
Earlier this expansion, the first recall in the 2014 Citroen C3 in Reims, France last year, followed the first recall by reporting deadly injuries. This led to the recall of the C3 models produced between 2009-2016 and the DS3s from 2016 to 2019.
The recall affects the C4 models built between 2010 and 2011, DS4s between 2010 and 2011 and DS5s produced between 2010 and 2013 and result in 9,968 vehicles throughout England.
A Citroen spokesman PA news agency said: “To date, more than 66,000 vehicles have worn new spare airbags. We estimate that the majority of customer vehicles will be attached to the new spare airbags until the end of September.”
“In addition, Stellantis has decided to expand the stopping drive of the Stellantis Proactive in a way to include the vehicles of additional Citroen C4 (2010-2011), DS4 (2010-2011) and DS5 (2010-2013). In England, this means an additional 9,968 tools.”
Citroen says whether the owners ‘vehicles are affected and that their vehicles can check the VIN number of their vehicles to the Citroen website’ Check Vehicle.
