Another win for world and United States: White House on Israel, Lebanon ceasefire extension

Speaking to reporters, Leavitt said: “Yes, so we had representatives here from both Israel and Lebanon. It’s been another extension of the ceasefire, which is another win for the world and for the United States, and again proof that President Trump and his team have done a tremendous job of negotiating for peace around the world.”

He added that the United States hopes to one day host the leaders of both countries for further talks.
“So we are very grateful to both Israel and Lebanon for choosing to work together and continuing these discussions, and we hope for a day where we welcome the leaders of both countries.” he said.
A day ago, US President Donald Trump said that Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend the ceasefire for another three weeks after high-level talks in Washington.

“I think they agreed not to shoot for another three weeks, to have a ceasefire, to not shoot anymore. Let’s see. We hope that will happen. Nothing will happen between them, but we still have Hezbollah to think about,” he said.
