Anthony Albanese apologises after taking part in a game of ‘shag, date or marry’ during an interview

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has apologized after taking part in a game of ‘make love, date or get married’ during a podcast interview.

Appearing on the Bush Deep podcast with host Nikki Osborne, Albanese was asked to play a ‘make love, marry or date’ game – involving Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman and Rhonda Burchmore – by choosing which celebrity he would sleep with, marry or date.

Answering the question, the Prime Minister said: ‘I just got married. ‘I’ve only been here six months.’

‘What if things get complicated?’ Osborne responded.

‘Kylie, obviously,’ he replied.

‘Would you marry Kylie? So fuck her? So will you go out with him?’ questioned Osborne.

“All of the above,” Albanese replied. ‘He’s great.’

The remarks sparked criticism, with some colleagues accusing the Prime Minister of resorting to ‘dressing room shenanigans’.

Albanese, who is currently in Fiji to sign a new deal with the Pacific nation, apologized in a brief statement on Monday morning.

‘I expressly apologize for the comments,’ the message read.

Independent Fowler MP Dai Le said Albanese’s remarks were “unbecoming of a gentleman” and suggested he was trying to appeal to the younger generation.

‘We should not use certain words in parliament,’ he said.

‘I would find this very unbecoming of a gentleman, but perhaps the prime minister is trying to appeal to another group, an audience that is not offended by the use of such language.’

Powerful Community MP Zali Steggall said it was ‘completely inappropriate’ for the Prime Minister to answer the question.

“He needs to learn to step back, lead by example and say he’s sexist,” Steggall said.

One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce also weighed in on the issue, describing Albanese’s remarks as ‘a little below him’.

“There are a lot of people who think they’re in a very unfortunate relationship with the Australian Prime Minister and he doesn’t need to play a stupid game,” Joyce said on Sunrise on Monday.

When asked what he would do if asked, Joyce replied: ‘Like most people, he avoided the question.’

Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Osborne asked if Albanese and his new wife Jodie Haydon were ‘having fun like rabbits’.

“Well, when we have time,” he replied.

‘After football. “It’s always a good aphrodisiac for the South to win,” he added, referring to the couple’s beloved NRL team.
