Anthropic’s valuation jumps to $350 billion after fresh investments from Microsoft, Nvidia
Anthropic’s valuation has now risen to around $350 billion from its $183 billion valuation in September after Microsoft and Nvidia jointly invested $15 billion in the AI startup. CNBC reported.
Microsoft announced this strategic partnership with Nvidia and Anthropic on Tuesday, signaling a new move to diversify its AI needs and reduce its dependence on ChatGPT maker OpenAI.
Under the agreement, Microsoft will invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic, while Nvidia will invest up to $10 billion in the Artificial Intelligence startup. Terms of the company’s next round are still being finalized. CNBC he said in a news article.

Anthropic has agreed to purchase $30 billion worth of Azure computing capacity from Microsoft and has signed a contract for up to 1 gigawatt of additional computing capacity. Official Microsoft Blog.
Simultaneously, it also committed to purchasing up to 1 gigawatt of computing capacity with Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.

The video featured Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang, who came together to discuss new partnerships.
This is the first time Nvidia and Anthropic have worked together to “support Anthropic’s future growth,” the blog post said. The companies will collaborate on engineering and design to improve the performance and efficiency of Anthropic models, while Nvidia will optimize their architectures to meet Anthropic’s specific workloads.
Microsoft’s support for OpenAI
Microsoft, led by Satya Nadella, has invested billions of dollars in Anthropic rival OpenAI since 2019. Founded in 2015 as a nonprofit research laboratory, OpenAI has become one of the fastest-growing commercial AI companies in the world thanks to the groundbreaking success of its ChatGPT chatbot.
Just last month, OpenAI completed its recapitalization and Microsoft officially outlined its partnership with the startup. Microsoft owns a stake in OpenAI’s for-profit business worth $135 billion, or roughly 27% of the company on a converted, diluted basis.
“As an industry, we need to move beyond any zero-sum narrative or winner-take-all fallacy,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in the video. “What is needed now is the hard work of building together broad, resilient capabilities so that this technology can deliver real, tangible local success to every country, every sector and every customer. The opportunity is too big to approach any other way,” he added.
