APCRDA Inks Deal For 5-Star Hotel, Convention Centre

: Providing a significant boost to the capital’s hospitality and business infrastructure, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on Thursday signed a sales agreement with Om Sri Bhavanasai Hospitality LLP for the development of a proposed five-star hotel and convention center in Thullur, Amaravati.
The agreement signed in Amaravati covers approximately 6.5 acres of land in Thullur mandal. Officials described the move as a milestone in strengthening the world-class hospitality and convention infrastructure in the capital region.
The agreement was signed in the presence of senior APCRDA officials and joint director Jubin Cheeran Roy, who represented the authority. The project is expected to play a key role in enhancing the city’s profile as a destination for world-class accommodation, business tourism and large-scale national and international events.
According to officials, the proposed five-star hotel and convention center is envisioned as a landmark development in line with Amaravati’s long-term master plan. It has been designed to meet the growing demand for high-end accommodation, conference facilities and event spaces in the capital, which has consistently positioned itself as an administrative, corporate and commercial centre.
The convention center component in particular is expected to significantly increase the city’s capacity to host major conferences, corporate programs, exhibitions and cultural gatherings. With dedicated spaces for business summits and public events, the project is expected to attract corporate houses, commercial organisations, academic institutions and government agencies seeking modern, integrated facilities.
Beyond infrastructure, the development is also expected to deliver clear economic benefits. Officials stated that the project will create employment in both construction and operation phases and will also boost allied sectors such as transportation, retail, catering and local services in the capital region.
The initiative underlines APCRDA’s ongoing efforts to attract strategic investments aligned with Amaravati’s broader vision as a globally competitive, well-planned capital city. The authority aims to create an integrated ecosystem that supports governance, trade and tourism by facilitating high-quality accommodation infrastructure.
Sources at APCRDA noted that the hospitality sector plays an important role in shaping the perception and functionality of a capital city. A modern five-star hotel and convention center not only increases accommodation capacity, but also serves as a catalyst for business tourism, international cooperation and cultural exchange.
