Apoplectic Netanyahu rages at Trump in private as ‘disastrous’ Iran deal leaves him longing for OBAMA
As Donald Trump moves closer to signing a peace deal with Iran, Israeli prime minister Barack Obama wishes he would return to the White House, and Benjamin Netanyahu is furious, according to a new report.
A senior political source has revealed that Netanyahu privately views the upcoming US-Iran deal as an unmitigated disaster and places the blame squarely on Trump. Al-Monitor.
‘This time the Prime Minister’s hands are tied. “He is completely paralyzed and knows he cannot do anything even if the agreement signed between the United States and Iran remains the disaster he now describes it as,” one of Netanyahu’s close friends told the press.
One insider said Netanyahu’s despair is so deep that he now misses the days of Joe Biden and even Obama, with whom he famously clashed. However, the Israeli leader now has to stand behind Trump.
The deal, which has not yet been finalized, has fueled speculation in Israel that Netanyahu may be forced to step aside to avoid an election wipeout and a possible prison sentence stemming from a long-running corruption case.
“The US-Iran agreement will influence Netanyahu’s decision on whether to participate in the upcoming elections or conclude that it is time to resign in exchange for a plea bargain,” a source close to Netanyahu told Al-Monitor.
Netanyahu’s inner circle also accuses Trump of wasting what Israeli security chiefs saw as a real opportunity to overthrow Tehran’s leadership by arming Iran’s Kurdish minority.
However, the plan was reportedly canceled by Trump at the eleventh hour under pressure from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Netanyahu’s inner circle also accuses Trump of squandering what Israeli security chiefs see as a live shot to overthrow Tehran’s leadership by using Iran’s Kurdish minority.
At the beginning of the war, reports emerged suggesting that Kurdish fighters from Iraq would cross the border into Iran under Israeli and US air cover.
Trump had privately supported the idea in the early stages of the war, but eventually backed out to prevent the conflict from escalating beyond airstrikes, according to the report.
“The plan to overthrow the Iranian regime with Kurdish cooperation was comprehensive and detailed,” a senior intelligence source told Al-Monitor.
‘We’ve invested tremendous resources and energy into this. It wasn’t a trick and it wasn’t superficial. Americans know this very well because they are well informed.’
Kurds are reportedly willing to assist the United States and Israel, and see the Iranian invasion as a step towards the ethnic group’s ultimate goal of establishing their own independent state.
“But Washington put the brakes on at the last moment,” the Israeli intelligence source added.
‘Today we know with certainty that [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan is the one who convinced Trump to stop everything. Who knows when such an opportunity will arise or whether it will arise again?’
Erdogan has long opposed Kurdish independence in the Middle East because Türkiye is home to its own large Kurdish minority.

The Turkish leader fears that an independent Kurdish state on its borders would encourage militant separatist movements in his country.
According to the same report, Trump also repeatedly delayed and canceled major operational plans to overthrow the regime in order to prevent further U.S. involvement in the conflict.
On Friday, the President suggested he was close to reaching a nuclear deal with Iran.
“I will now meet in the Situation Room to reach a final decision,” the president said on Truth Social on Friday.
He drew three red lines before a deal could be reached: Iran must vow never to pursue a nuclear bomb, surrender its enriched uranium, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
However, according to the New York Times, Trump reportedly left the meeting without agreeing to sign an agreement with the regime.
