Apple at 50: Tim Cook pens ‘thank you’ note ahead of 1 April anniversary— ‘world is moved forward by people who…’

Apple Inc announced on Thursday (local time) that the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 1, celebrating five decades of different thinking and innovations that “help shape the way people connect, create, learn and experience the world.”
Earlier in the day, Apple’s Chief Executive Tim Cook wrote a note reflecting on the company’s journey over the last fifty years ahead of the anniversary. In his note, Cook recalled that the company started in a small garage with the idea that “technology should be personal.”
According to a press release, Apple said that in the coming weeks, the tech giant will celebrate its 50th anniversary with its global community and celebrate the creativity, innovation and impact created by people around the world who use Apple’s technology.
Tim Cook wrote a note
Recalling Apple’s journey, Cook noted that the technology giant offers products that reshape technology, from the first computer and Mac to devices such as iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and AirPods. He added that in addition to this wide range of products, Apple’s services such as App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay, iCloud and Apple TV have also become a part of people’s daily lives.
“In every breakthrough we have been guided by one idea – the idea that the world will be moved forward by people who think differently,” Cook said.
Apple challenges what’s possible
He also said that Apple’s goal for the last fifty years has been to challenge what is possible and give people powerful tools. At the heart of it all was the belief that progress comes from individuals who dare to think differently.
Cook stated that real change often starts with someone who imagines a new possibility, whether it is an inventor, a scientist, a student or a storyteller, adding that this spirit of curiosity has shaped the company from its early days.
Cook said Apple is focused on building for the future rather than looking back, but this milestone is an opportunity to express our gratitude to everyone who has played a role in this journey, from employees around the world to the global developer community to the millions of customers who use its products every day.
Finishing his note, Cook said, “If you’ve taught us anything, it’s that the people crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” he said.
Apple’s history
According to a CBS News According to the report, more than 2.5 billion people now own Apple products, a population larger than China and India. But it all started in 1971, when Steve Wozniak met Steve Jobs on a sidewalk near Cupertino, California. Reflecting on that moment, Wozniak later said that no one could have predicted that this encounter would eventually lead to the establishment of a major technology company.
By 1975, computers were still unfamiliar to most people. Around that time, Wozniak built the first machine that actually consisted of a simple circuit board. Jobs soon suggested that they should try to sell it. A laughing Wozniak later said that Jobs was determined to start a company and that he provided the technical expertise.
