APSRTC Starts Free Bus Services in Tirumala for Devotees

Tirupate: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) launched free bus services at Tirumala to increase mobility for dedicated and reduce dependence on private vehicles.
Service was introduced after the request of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to improve local transportation and to address excessive wages by special taxi operators.
Electric Buses TTD Additional Executive Officer (AEO) CH. Venkaiah Chowdery in Ashwini Hospital circle. He said that the initiative will reduce car pollution in Tepe town and provide cost -free public transport for dedicated public transport.
APSRTC buses will work on the same roads as Srivari Dharma Rathams, operated by TTD. TTD buses take about 300 trips a day, while the RTC’s additional 80 trips will increase the frequency of service.
Ek EK EO, “The average waiting time with the additional fleet fell from eight minutes to two. This strengthens public transportation vehicles and eliminates the need for special vehicles for short distances,” he said.
He added that passengers can now take RTC buses from various points of Tirumala and that they could travel directly to Tirupati without going to the main bus stop. No additional fee is valid beyond the regular tirumala -irupati fee.
APSRTC Executive Director PAUNI Chandrasekhar, TTD Transportation Gm Sesha Reddy, Tirumala Deputy EO M. Lokanatham and Tirupati Regional Public Transportation Officer Venkata Rao launched.
