Aria Thorpe’s parents say ‘our hearts are broken’ by her death

The family of nine-year-old Aria Thorpe, who died from a single stab wound in Weston-super-Mare on Monday, have described her as “the most beautiful little soul”.
“Our hearts are broken in ways we could never have imagined,” they said in a statement.
Aria’s father Tom Thorpe said her death was “devastating” and added: “You will be missed so much, you special little angel. A life gone too soon but hopefully a life well lived. We all love you so much. Goodnight darling.”
A. The 15-year-old appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Friday He is accused of murder.
Aria’s maternal family said: “For those who didn’t have the privilege of knowing Aria, she was the most beautiful little soul, happy go lucky, full of light and joy.
“She loved singing and dancing and was proud to dress up, always wanting to look like her mother.
“We are staying close together as a family and doing everything we can to support each other during this unimaginable time.”
