Arrests in Michigan stopped potential Halloween terror attack: FBI

FBI The FBI arrested multiple people in Michigan, preventing a “possible terrorist attack over Halloween weekend,” Director Kash Patel said Friday morning.
Patel said in a social media post that further details about the arrests would come soon.
“This morning the FBI foiled a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple individuals who were allegedly planning a violent attack over Halloween weekend in Michigan.” Patel wrote to X.
“More details to come. Thank you to the men and women of the FBI and law enforcement officers everywhere who stand guard 24/7 and disrupt our mission to defend the homeland,” Patel wrote.
NBC News reported that the FBI detained five teenagers from the cities of Dearborn and Inkster as part of an investigation into a plot to carry out an attack in the United States “with ties to ISIS extremism.”
NBC reported that three senior law enforcement officials had been briefed on the investigation and that the group had discussed carrying out an attack during Halloween, which they called “pumpkin day.”

The Police Department in Dearborn, Michigan, said in a post on Facebook that “the FBI was notified that the FBI was conducting operations in the City of Dearborn early this morning.”
“We want to reassure our residents that there is no threat to the community at this time,” the department said.
