My Mother Was My Life’

Sanjay Dutt admits that he has always been surrounded by strong women. “My sisters Namrata, Priya and my wife Maanayata; they are all very strong women. But the strongest woman in my life was my mother. She ruled our home and our lives with an iron hand. No one could mess with her.”

Still, the Mother India star pampered and pampered Sanjay non-stop. “He never denied me anything. I just had to ask and he would give me anything I wanted. In my case, my father (actor and MP Sunil Dutt) was the disciplinarian. My mother definitely spoiled me,” says Sanjay.

Being the son of such a formidable woman and an iconic actor profoundly shaped his life. “As a child, she was just my mother. But as I grew older, I realized what it meant to be her son. To this day, my mother continues to inspire generations with her spirit, talent and beauty. Yes, of course, I feel lucky to be her son.”
