As Jewar gears up, Delhi airport firm seeks jet fuel tax parity to stay in the game

“GMR’s concern is valid. In the long run, there will be an impact on its traffic unless VAT rates in Delhi are rationalized with neighboring states,” said Satyan Nayar, general secretary of the Association of Private Airport Operators, which comprises private airport operators. “So airlines will benefit from lower cost airports for refueling, overnight parking etc. Ticket prices will be higher at Delhi compared to neighboring airports like Jewar. The impact may not be visible immediately. But it will be visible in a year or two.”
