Asda fined £640,000 for selling over 100 out-of-date food items

ASDA was fined £ 640,000 for selling non -up -to -date food in two stores in Wales.
Trade standards officers have discovered 115 items in Leckwith and Pentwyn branches more than two weeks than two weeks.
Supermarket, Food Safety Officers have filed four charges after making multiple visits during 2024. During an examination at the Leckwith store on January 17, 36 non -current products, including five bathtubs spicy swimsuit, ended seven days ago.
On March 25, a visit to the Pentwyn Store in Cardiff Gate Retail Park found 25 old products, while a month later, another visit to the store and some of them were not currently currently found 48 products.
On May 8, a second visit to the Leckwith store found six more than six people.

ASDA was fined £ 640,000 and the cost and £ 2,000 were ordered to pay an additional fee.
ASDA, last year, a different history code control process was used to prosecute food safety violations.
An updated process since November 24 included daily manual controls on all short -lived products and controls twice a week on each long -lasting product.
In an ASDA spokesman said: “Last year, we are upset that two of our Cardiff stores are on sale and we accept that our usual high standards are not approved.
“Since then, we have introduced a new history code control process in all our stores, so every short -lived product is checked daily, so customers can always buy the freshest products.”
