London hospital forced to evacuate 150 people after suspected chemical incident

A large London Hospital had to evacuate 150 people after a suspicious chemical incident.

The London Fire Department was called to Guy’s hospital in Southwark, shortly after 9 am on Thursday.

A London Firefighter spokesman said: “Firefighters responds to the reports of a chemical incident in Guy’s Hospital.

“Two firefighters, two fire rescue units, a command unit and expert dangerous substance officials were sent to the scene. The crew carries out operations to ventilate the building.

“Approximately 150 people were released from the basement and ground floor levels of the hospital by firefighters and hospital staff.

“Tugay was first sent to the scene at 8.49 at 8.49 with crews from WhiteChapel, Dowgate, Euston and Environmental Fire Stations.”
