Asia-Pacific markets extend recovery as investors await Trump address on Iran war

Asia-Pacific markets rose on Thursday, tracking similar moves on Wall Street as investors await a speech from Donald Trump later in the day amid hopes that the US president wants to exit the Iran war.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump claimed that Iran’s “New Regime President” had asked the United States for a ceasefire, a claim Tehran denied.

Trump added that the United States would “consider” the offer only when the Strait of Hormuz is “open, free and clear.” Real Social.

U.S. stock futures were little changed; S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures were just above the horizontal line. Dow futures rose 13 points, or 0.03%.

In the USA, S&P 500 gained 0.72% and Nasdaq Composite gained 1.16% overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.48 percent.
