Assembly Election LIVE: Kerala’s LDF, UDF release manifestos; Tamil Nadu CM Stalin holds rally in Erode

If the results of the local body elections held a few months ago are any indication, a slight but significant shift in minority votes, especially among Muslims in Malabar, appears to be in favor of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the April 9 Kerala Assembly elections. Although election observers do not foresee a comprehensive mandate, the political mentality of the Muslim community shows a noticeable shift away from the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
The CPI(M), which leads the LDF, has carefully directed its attacks at Jamaat-e-Islami while avoiding mention of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). However, the vast majority of the Muslim community remains outside the central political narratives and many voices remain politically unrepresented.
