Don’t read too much into my meeting with Rahul Gandhi: D K Shivakumar

He also stated that he will continue to engage with the party leadership on various issues.
Shivakumar said that in connection with the developments in the Cauvery dispute, he posted on ‘X’, “Efforts may fail but prayers are useless.”
“Thanks to my prayers, the Cauvery issue took a new shape in the court. The court told the Center that it had to decide on the Mekedatu Balancing Reservoir issue. That’s why I tweeted,” he said.
He rejected the different interpretations of journalists.
During his meeting with Rahul Gandhi during his transit visit to Mysuru before leaving for Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, the KPCC chief said he interacted with the Congress leader.
“I will not say that I did not talk to him. I cannot reveal what we talked about. This is between him and me,” Shivakumar said, adding that he will leave for Delhi on Friday. “I am going to Delhi tomorrow and will meet him (Rahul Gandhi). I have a meeting regarding the Assam Assembly elections,” he said.
During a meeting with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Shivakumar said that it was part of the party protocol of being KPCC president to welcome the party president when he visits the state.
Responding to his supporters’ questions about joy after his meeting with Rahul Gandhi, Shivakumar said that he was not aware of such reactions.
“My meeting with Rahul Gandhi is not new. I don’t know who told you this. My meeting with party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and others is not something that can be discussed in public,” he added.
When asked if he would convey his supporters’ wishes to Rahul Gandhi, Shivakumar said he would also convey the journalists’ wishes.
