AT&T data breach settlement: Deadline to file claim approaches — check if you’re eligible

The US -based telecommunication company At & T accepted a $ 177 million class action agreement to compensate for customers who were in danger in two separate data violations last year.
If the appropriate customers apply until the payment date, they can receive thousands of dollars to request their shares.
The case claims that AT & T cannot maintain the sensitive data of customers and leads to data violations. Although the company did not object to the occurrence of violations, it refused to make any data or wrong, USA Daily notified.
Who is entitled to make a request?
Based on different cases, there are two settlements or suitable customer groups that can file for a request.
The first class includes plaintiffs affected by the data violation of 30 March 2024 and reveal information such as addresses, social security numbers and passkods. According to the settlement website, these data were later published on the Dark Web.
The second class is for those affected by the incident announced on 12 July 2024, when customers’ call and text records were illegally downloaded.

What is compensation for the plaintiffs?

1. First data violation (30 March 2024)
- Certified Loss: Customers in this category may request up to $ 5,000 through a documented loss cash payment option, ie submit the evidence of loss.
