Attacker pretends to be victim after stabbing woman eight times | News

The knife-wielding attacker, who stabbed a woman eight times during a burglary in her own home, acted like a victim while talking to the police.
Footage released by Suffolk Police on Monday (December 8) shows Elliott Mallett, 24, of Hawthorn Drive, Ipswich, Suffolk, approaching officers in a nearby park following the “savage and senseless attack” on December 7, 2024.
He told them, “Someone literally attacked me. They hit me many times and tried to stab me.”
After inconsistencies emerged in Mallett’s version of events, officers decided to treat him as a suspect. He was not previously identified by the victim.
Mallett was found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated burglary at Ipswich Crown Court. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with five years on probation.
