Audrey Griffin: Light Up concert held to honour teen’s life, call for safety
The leading Aussie actions joined thousands of people to honor the life of a young woman and to put pressure on a safer future after being killed on the way home from one night.
19 -year -old Audrey Griffin was found dead in Erina Creek in NSW Central Coast on March 24 after he disappeared on his way home a night later with friends in Gosford.
His death initially received non -stable treatment, but a month later, the police arrested Adrian Noel Torrens and accused him of murder.
Only days later, the 53 -year -old was found dead in his cell on April 24th.
The Light Up event was organized by Audrey, founded by Kathleen Kirby, the mother of Mrs. Griffin, and the Light Up event organized by the non -profit stand at the Polytec Stadium on Saturday.
“Light up, everyone represents a future where everyone has the right to return home home,” the organizers said.
“A call and community movement gathered to move freely, to fully live and to shape our right to shape a future, where security and respect are a reality for everyone.”
The actions of the event include Tokyo, Luude and Mia Wray birds.
Last month, Tokyo Birds vocalist Ian Kenny said that the group’s activity was “really honored to play in the memory of Ms. Griffin.
Uz We know that this has a great impact on the region, we have been going to Central Coast for more than 10 years, we are recording in a studio in Gosford, an area we love, ”he said.
“We stand only for security for all people and stand with Audrey.”
Central Coast Assembly Member Jared Wright said that thousands of people participated in the event to support Mrs Griffin’s legacy.
“Tonight, the Central Coast community met to honor Audrey Griffin, a young member of our community, whose life is very young.”
“The transition was still heavy on many people in our community and nothing but a tragedy.
“The number of people participating showed that we are a tight knitting community in Central Coast, and that we want to do our best to ensure that such events never happen again.”
Speaking at 60 minutes in August, Kirby said he chose to do a music activity to make money to combat violence against women.
“Mom liked to live. ‘Mom, SHH’ would be going, but it would be the first person in front of the stage,” he said.
“And I know that this is 110 percent for this reason.”
