MEA rejects Pakistan’s comments on condition of minorities in India

India on Monday, December 29, 2025, said Pakistan’s “horrific and systematic victimization” of minorities belonging to various faiths is a deep-seated reality and no amount of “finger pointing” can “obscure” it.
New Delhi said this while strongly rebutting Pakistan’s comments on the situation of minorities in India.

“We reject the reported statements coming from a country whose abysmal record on this front speaks for itself,” External Affairs Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said. he said.
In Islamabad, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi, while responding to media questions about alleged vandalism during Christmas celebrations in some parts of India, said, “The persecution of minorities in India is a matter of deep concern.”
Mr Andrabi also cited “recent incidents of condemnable vandalism” during Christmas, as well as alleged campaigns targeting Muslims.
