Meghan Markle reportedly wants her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to keep their royal titles after meeting with two important members of the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left royal duties in 2020 and moved to America for a new life.
Prince Harry and Meghan currently live in a luxury mansion in Montecito, California, with their two children, six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet. But despite wanting to make a fresh start in the US, away from Britain’s royal life, it has been claimed the Sussex couple are not ready to cut all ties with the Palace.
Harry and Meghan still retain their royal titles but do not use them for commercial gain following a mutual agreement with the Firm.
The couple reportedly decided to keep Archie and Lilibet’s HRH titles so they can choose their own paths in the future, but not before Harry had a chat with his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Despite the news, the royal commentator argued that there were different reasons behind the Duchess’ decision.
According to OK magazine, royal commentator Neil Sein said: “Harry and Meghan are very, very keen to hold on to these royal titles.
“After much deliberation, Meghan decided that the titles would be a good thing not only for herself, but for both of her children.”
He added: “Meghan is very friendly with senior members of the monarchy, especially Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
“After that, Meghan realized how useful a title can be, especially when you want to move in the right circles. That’s why they want to get their hands on titles.”
The Duke of Sussex visited England alone again in September, where he met with King Charles for the first time in 19 months.
Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Meghan has tipped off to visit the UK before the end of the year for the first time since 2022.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Meghan will return to the UK before the end of the year.”
It is unknown whether Archie and Lilibet were involved in the unconfirmed plans.
