Australia wants peace after Israel’s ‘criminal assault’

Anthony Albanese called for an increase in violence in the Middle East following Israel’s attack in Qatar.
Israel hit the capital Doha, aiming at the leadership of Hamas, an Australian terrorist group, and said five members of the group were killed.
The strike led to widespread criticism from allies, including the US and the UK.
During the war in Gaza, Qatar mediated the peace talks between Israel and Hamas and condemned the attack as a “criminal attack” and “open violation of all international laws and norms”.
Speaking from Honiara, the Prime Minister pointed out that the US’s sovereignty was violated.
“It carries the risk of cease -fire,” he said on Wednesday.
“I want to see the peace in that area, I don’t want to see a rise.”
Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles confirmed Australia’s view of Israel’s strikes.
“They put a cease -fire risk in Gaza, they do not help in terms of the return of hostages, and those in the Middle East face the risk of rising,” he said.
“For all these reasons, we are very worried about Israel’s strikes in Qatar.”
Israel took the full responsibility of the attack, but the strike made most of its international allies.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong said Qatar plays an important role in the region.
“We don’t think this is the right thing,” he said to Seven’s Sunrise program.
“Tirelessly in these negotiations, the context in which this strike takes place.”
US President Donald Trump said that the strike is “did not advance the goals of Israel or America ,, while British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer condemned Israel’s actions.
Qatar leaders said they were determined to make a cease -fire agreement despite the attacks.
Australia was not given any special information about the attacks before the Israel took place, and a president was given to the United States.
Colin Rubenstein, Executive Director of the Australian/Israel and Jewish Affairs Council, said that the strike aims to lead the most senior Hamas leadership.
“It should not be forgotten that Qatar himself is far from being an innocent audience or neutral ‘mediator’.
“One of the most important allies of Hamas, the leadership of the generous style, they provide funds to terrorist groups.”

David Shoebridge, the spokesman of the Greens Foreign Affairs, showed that Israel’s action is not serious about the return of hostages of the government’s government.
“This last gross violation of international law proves that Israel does not want a negotiated cease -fire and will continue to achieve the unlawful violence of the US,” he said.
Hamas, who controlled Gaza, occupied the south of Israel in October 2023 and took about 250 more hostages while killed more than 1200 Israelis and some were still organized.
Approximately 63,000 Palestinians in Gaza died more than hunger in Israel’s military reaction and many other war zones.
