Australian Open 2026: GB’s Neal Skupski and Christian Harrison win men’s doubles title

Great Britain’s Neal Skupski and his American partner Christian Harrison captured the Australian Open men’s doubles title together in their first Grand Slam.

Skupski, 36, and Harrison, 31, defeated Australian wildcard players Jason Kubler and Marc Polmans 7-6 (7-4) 6-4.

Skupski and Harrison competed together for the first time in Adelaide just before the Australian Open, reaching the semi-finals.

Liverpudlian Skupski played alongside Briton Joe Salisbury throughout 2025, reaching the finals of the French Open and US Open before Salisbury took a break from tennis due to anxiety.

This was the second Grand Slam title in doubles for Skupski, who won the Wimbledon title with Dutch Wesley Koolhof in 2023.

It was also the third time in the last five Grand Slams that at least one British player has won the men’s doubles.

Henry Patten won last year’s Australian Open alongside Finland’s Harri Heliovaara, while the all-British duo of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool won at Wimbledon.
