Police have released new footage of alleged triple murderer Julian Ingram leaving town after an alleged shooting that left his heavily pregnant ex-partner and two others dead in the state’s Midwestern region.
The CCTV footage was filmed driving the white double-cab Ford Ranger utility vehicle on Loughnan Street, Lake Cargelligo, at 4.18pm on Thursday, just minutes after Ingram allegedly shot and killed Sophie Quinn, 24, her friend John Harris, 32, and Sophie’s aunt Nerida Quinn, 50. 19-year-old Kaleb Macqueen was also injured in the clash.
The facility’s tray contains working tools and a silver toolbox, and the vehicle’s license plate bears the registration DM-07-GZ. Ingram was working as a gardener for Lachlan Shire Council and police believe a council magnet adorned the driver’s side door while an orange emergency light bar was fitted to the roof.
The footage comes as the hunt for Ingram marked its sixth day on Tuesday.
Police continued their search at Mount Hope, about 100 kilometers northwest of Lake Cargelligo, after receiving reports that Ingram had been seen in the area over the weekend. Heavily armed tactical police, assisted by air marshals, searched a property in the small town on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Andy Holland said Ingram’s local knowledge of roads, farms and cabins complicated the manhunt. The fugitive is seen as an experienced forester who can survive alone for long periods of time with limited resources.
Macqueen, the sole survivor of the alleged attack, described how Ingram was “laughing” before he allegedly shot himself outside Nerida Quinn’s home on Thursday.
“[Nerida] obviously I was heading towards the uterus and I heard ‘boom boom’ she was holding his neck and he was laughing and [allegedly] He took a good shot to the head and he was gone,” Ingram said. Nine News.
“It was fight or flight; I just had to save myself, I couldn’t do anything to Nerida anyway. If I had gone near her I probably would have died. [her].”
Nearly 100 police officers have been involved in the search for Ingram, also known as Julian Pierpoint, since he was spotted heading north towards the nearby town of Euabalong on Thursday afternoon.
Ingram is described as being approximately 165 to 170 centimeters tall, of medium build, with short black hair, brown eyes, and of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander appearance. Anyone who sees Ingram or the vehicle is advised not to approach and call Triple Zero immediately.
