Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have the world’s biggest song with their throwback duet Die With A Smile.
Meanwhile, fans in the UK voted Alex Warren’s Ordinary as the best song of the year.
Staying at number one for 13 weeks, Ordinary was one of the only new songs to feature in Spotify’s Top 10 songs in the UK.
Instead, previous hits by Lola Young, Billie Eilish and Gigi Perez have been on the charts all year, pushing newcomers aside.
Originally released in 2020, Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club was the fourth most-streamed song of 2025.
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter’s 2024 album became the most listened to album in the UK, thanks to hits such as Short’n’Sweet, Taste, Espresso and Please Please Please, but her new album Man’s Best Friend could not enter the top 10.
A similar picture emerged in the year-end lists of Spotify’s competitors.
The most viewed track on both YouTube and Apple Music was Rosé and Bruno Mars’ pop hit APT, which was originally released in October 2024.
However, YouTube users were notable for their obsession with K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Four songs from the Netflix animation make the site’s Top 10 list, with Huntr/x’s Golden coming in at number three.
The soundtrack was also the second biggest album of the year on Spotify, followed globally by Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft.

Spotify Wrapped first launched in 2016 and has grown every year.
It compiles users’ listening habits to discern their most played songs, favorite artists, and most popular podcasts.
The results are shared on the app, and fans are encouraged to share their most popular tracks on social media.
This year’s offering comes with a special film highlighting the achievements of British artists like Lola Young (1 billion streams in 2025) and Central Cee (785 million streams for her debut album Can’t Rush Greatness).
Spotify also creates leaderboards that let listeners know who a particular artist’s biggest fan is and even who might be in the “top 0.1 percent” of listeners.
But Richard Whittle, professor of artificial intelligence and public policy at the University of Salford, says “gamifying” people’s data in this way could actually change the way they listen to music.
“Wrapped is an incredibly effective viral marketing tool that has turned millions of users into enthusiastic promoters,” he says.
“Many users even adjust their habits throughout the year to design a ‘cooler’ Wrapped product next time, which shows just how powerful the feature has become.”
Atlantic RecordsRival streaming services like Apple, Amazon Music and YouTube also release their own wrapped versions, logging their users’ data and creating custom playlists of their favorite songs.
