Zipline’s US deliveries have risen 15% every week in 2025: CEO

How big is the US business now, Keller? How big is it? How fast is it growing?
00:07 Keller
Yeah, so it’s funny you ask. So we actually only launched commercially in the US in January of this year. and as a service, we’re actually increasing the number of deliveries we make each week by about 15%. 15% every week is a really crazy growth rate. That means, you know, we’re almost doubling in size every six or seven weeks. Actually, I was just talking to the team, we set a new all-time record this morning. We did 200 commercial deliveries between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning, and that’s actually only in the US. Globally, it is twice that. So, there are a few more crazy statistics. So right now our average customer orders three to eight times a month, which is more than the number of people using Amazon Prime. The service’s net promotion score is 95. Our average delivery time from the moment you open the Zipline app and order from Walmart or Chipotle or, you know, the other 17 restaurant brands we serve, until the item is delivered to your home, is approximately 16 minutes. Some deliveries take less than 10 minutes. This is almost magical speed for customers, and we see that people who can have items delivered to their homes so quickly change their purchasing behavior significantly.

You know, Keller, autonomous logistics reaches less than 1% of the global population today. So I’m curious, what do you think the adoption curve looks like from here, Keller, five years from now, 10 years from now?

You know, I think what we’re observing right now is that, you know, obviously we’re kind of launching the subway with the subway, you know, you need to build that infrastructure so that it can serve the neighborhoods and the cities. That’s why Zipline decided to really put all of our efforts into Dallas this year. And if you’re in Dallas, Fort Worth, you’re probably already using Zipline. If you’re not, then this technology still seems like pure science fiction and kind of impossible to people. I guess it’s no different than how autonomous cars like Waymo or robot taxis feel depending on whether they’re in your city or not. What we have observed is that when we launch in a city, the growth rate is incredibly fast. So, with some of our partners that we’re going to integrate with, we’re typically larger than their traditional delivery business within two or three days. We make hundreds of deliveries a day from every major merchant partner, whether it’s Walmart or a restaurant. And one last crazy statistic. I mean, some of the neighborhoods and cities that we’ve launched, I was looking at the stats for a city that we launched a few months ago, 46% of addresses in range order from Zipline. So, you know, I think most people think startups get to maybe 1% or 2% market penetration. We have almost the majority, you know 50% of the houses use this service. I think this is a testament to how much people prefer a logistics solution that is 10x faster and cheaper, and perhaps most importantly, a better product experience and a safer experience.
