Baltimore County bus crash injures over 30; one airlifted by Medevac

More than 30 people were injured and a critically ill patient was rescued and hospitalized when a public bus crashed into a building just outside Baltimore, Maryland, on Wednesday, authorities said.
First responders arrived at the scene after a Maryland Transit Administration bus crashed on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. Fox 45 News reported.
Baltimore County officials said “multiple civilian vehicles” were involved in the crash, one of which overturned.

Authorities said that one person was trapped in the bus and another person was trapped in the vehicle and was rescued by the intervention of the teams arriving at the scene.
The Baltimore County Fire Department said a civil engineer was on his way to the crash.

Authorities said a second mass casualty incident was alerted shortly after the crash.
Maryland Governor Wes Moore said he was monitoring the situation.
“Dawn and I keep everyone in our hearts and prayers. We are deeply grateful to our first responders who acted with speed and skill to keep our neighbors safe,” he wrote on X. “We were in close coordination with local authorities to provide any support needed on the ground.”

Maryland State Highway Administration said the roads near the accident were closed after crews intervened. Drivers were asked to use alternative routes.
