Baltimore Orioles pull suspicious move on Pride Night, raising several questions

MLB criticizes ‘hypocrisy’ targeting Christian players
Kayleigh McEnany criticizes Major League Baseball for alleged hypocrisy, highlighting Christian players while allowing other expressions. He notes that San Francisco Giants players were admonished for Bible verses on hats, in contrast to the drag queens on the Dodgers field and the “BLM” logos on pitchers’ mounds. Former MLB catcher Raffy Lopez joins to discuss his support for players expressing their beliefs.
Friday night we had a doubleheader of sorts in Major League Baseball regarding Pride Night shenanigans.
June is quickly coming to an end, so this was our final call to teams that have yet to meet this year’s virtue signaling quota.
In New York, the Mets celebrated the firing of their manager by holding the 2026 Pride Night, which came with its own problems. But instead I want to focus on the Baltimore Orioles, who went above and beyond on the big night.
The team announced earlier this week that the outfield will feature a drag queen splashing water on fans. This is not an exaggeration. That’s exactly what happened on Friday night.
Take a look:
Unbelievable.
There were also Furries (people dressed as giant animals, walking around like humans) wandering the stadium before the game, and Pride banners hung at The Warehouse, where 2,131 Cal Ripken flags used to fly.
They leaned on him again. Big time. Allllllll the way in…
Except for one questionable social media post before the game. The team announced its starting roster via Twitter (X) and accompanying graphic didn’t Include an actual actor for one of the only times this season.
Instead, the mascot stepped forward.
What a month for Major League Baseball
You can’t sneak that fan fastball, Orioles! Nice try. Everyone is on high alert right now. It’s been a brutal month for Major League Baseball, and people are on edge right now.
I don’t blame them.
The San Francisco Giants continue to be a disaster in the west. The whole Pride Night controversy started two weeks ago when four players wrote Bible verses on their rainbow hats, and the fallout has been disastrous ever since.

Rob Manfred accuses Giants of not communicating properly. The Giants appealed to and pursued LGBTQ fans. Senator Josh Hawley got the Justice Department involved. Buster Posey appeared to be being held hostage at a press conference earlier this week and refused to talk about it.
there was one colossal confusion.
But this of course did not stop teams from participating this month. For those wondering what a normal Orioles starting lineup chart looks like, here’s an example:
The best I can say is that the Pride Night graphic was the first Negative to feature one actor in a month, and that was because the team chose to do a Star Wars-themed scroll over two nights at the end of May.
Other than that, almost every starting lineup chart this season features a picture of a player, which is customary in the league. The Orioles aren’t reinventing the wheel by doing this.

However, they are reinventing this by putting their Bird mascot on the Pride Night starting row card. I’m sure this isn’t accidental or coincidental. The team didn’t run out of players it could use for graphics.
Did the players simply say no? Did the team decide not to take any chances? And if so, why? Why attend Pride in the park, where drag queens spray kids with water and Furries run around but aren’t on the ranking card?
Don’t go halfway. No sir. You’re either all in or you’re all out.
