Bangladesh Islamists: Jamaat-e-Islami stage mega rally to challenge old ally BNP

On Saturday, Bangladesh’s largest Islamist party Jamaat-E-Islami held its first major rally in Dakka because of its efforts to weaken the secular character of the country and bring theocracy to power.

Jei held a major rally in Paltan Maidan in Eastern Pakistan before the 1970 elections.

Ameer Shafiqur Rahman, the party of the party on Saturday, was chaired. He warned the party fans that Bangladesh could witness more violence to keep on the right path.
In a bent reference to the Awami League, Rahman said, “As of October 28, 2006, the deaths of the army officers of the then paramilitary BDR border protection force and the land of Bangladesh.” He said.

JEI, who works against Bangladesh’s independence, was completely banned by Awami League days before the commentary of Sheikh Hasina. Professor Muhammad Yunus, led by the temporary regime, then lifted the ban.

At the rally, Rahman said that the party will now lead a movement against corruption and extortion. Jei’s power demonstration can pit against the long -term ally BNP.
If voted for power, no deputy or minister associated with the party would not accept state lands and tax exemptions or not personally dealt with public funds. One of the most important agendas of the party is to carry out a campaign to provide a proportional representation (PR) system in the national elections.
Senior Party leader Nayeb-E-Imaer Abdullah Mohammad Taher said that the elections within the scope of the PR system are the most appropriate method in the current political context. Jei’s record in the general elections was irregular because the party never won a good number of seats even during the alliance with BNP.

It is against the BNP PR system. In the rally, many other Islamist parties and leader Rally under the leadership of the student joined the rally. According to the party leaders, 66 -year -old Rahman collapsed twice while addressing the rally and then taken to hospital.
