Microsoft to update flexible work policy, may ask employees to work from office 3 days a week: Report

The technology giant Microsoft plans to tighten office participation policy and can implement it in early January for some employees. For the implementation of this policy, dates may vary in various Microsoft offices.

Business Insider, Redmond, Washington employees are expected to work more consistently than the office from January.

The company still concludes the details and planned to make an announcement in September.

What is the proposed policy?

According to the new policy, Microsoft made it necessary to work in the office for at least three days a week.

Since the end of 2020, the technology Major had a flexible working policy, where employees worked remotely for about 50% of the unauthorized time. This policy has become more flexible in practice and allows employees to work remotely.

Microsoft spokesman Frank Shaw confirmed that the company is considering updating flexible working policies, but no final decision was taken.

In line with other technology companies

Microsoft’s last move is expected to comply with other major technology companies that have recently proposed harder working policies.

Earlier this year, Microsoft’s rival Amazon squeezed his working policy and required employees to work for five days a week. Last year, AT & T launched a similar policy and CEO John Stankey asked employees to get on the ship or leave the ship soon.

Microsoft’s move from the three -day office to work policy is similar to Meta and Google’s. In particular, some Microsoft teams, such as corporate, external and legal affairs (Cela) group, work from office for more than three days a week.

Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Cloud and AI President Scott Guthrie said to employees during an internal meeting last September, the company would review the flexible working policy if there is a clear drop in productivity.
