Bazoumana Toure transfer news: Why Newcastle are spending £43m on forward

Toure’s positivity is also reflected on the field.
The speedy winger has certainly tried to make things happen at Hoffenheim, who narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Champions League last season.
Among forwards playing in the Bundesliga in the 2025-26 season, Toure is first in successful crosses (39), joint second in assists (nine), joint third in dribbles completed (48) and fourth in opportunities created (45) and big chances created (11).
But he is far from adrift.
“You see his qualities on the ball, his speed and his hard work,” Besara said. “But what amazed me was his ability to take instruction from coaches and players and do it right on the field.
“I remember him scoring a few goals for Hammarby before but he didn’t score a header at the time.
“One day before the match, our coach [Kim Hellberg] He said, ‘Bazou, I want you to go to the first post and head the ball.’ He went on to score two headed goals in that match.
“He’s really accommodating when it comes to getting tactical advice.”
Toure’s ability to process information quickly has been key to his inadvertent improvements.
In his last league campaign at Hoffenheim, Toure came out on top in 152 duels and won the ball back 127 times.
The Premier League is one step ahead.
Toure is still a rookie and needs to work on several areas of his game, including his finishing.
He will also need time to get used to the physicality and intensity of the league and the system used by Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe.
However, the winger will be able to benefit from his recent experience after adapting to new environments many times over the years.
“I To know it will be truly successful,” Besara said. “Mark my words.”
