BBC at scene of severe flooding in Wales

BBC correspondent Will Vernon wades through floodwaters caused by Storm Claudia causing extensive damage to Monmouth town center in Wales.
One family told BBC Wales how they were rescued from their home by boat in the dark, while business owners said they lost “thousands” worth of shares due to the floods.
A major incident was declared in Monmouth by the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and crews were called to 82 flood-related incidents in the wider area.
Mayors say they are “ready and prepared, but not at this level” as rivers reach “unprecedented” levels.
